Posting because this is a good thing and so often all this feels so negative and hard to deal with etc
Paul (my amazing husband) has had a really hard few weeks to say the least.
He has his dental assessment tomorrow following his radio and chemo etc.
He doesn't have his scan until some time beginning April and actually thinking about it we need to ring to get that as we haven't had anything
Anyway - Paul has been feeling awful with incredibly horrid nausea which stopped him eating anything for two weeks and about a week ago the ENT Head and Nexk team (amazing team) saw us and they have him on two anti sickness meds now with Metloclopomide (can't spell it lol) Ondanzitron and it's been amazing for him! A few days later he wanted to start eating again and tried an Ensure Plus fibre in his RIGG bur that then brought on horrific acid reflux and he had to then go onto Gaviscon extra on top of his lanzoproazole! It's a never ending cycle of meds every week it feels lol - we have half a pharmacy in our kitchen
Hes now hungry and wants to eat and he's actually doing so well!! I am beyond over the mood with his ability to eat. He still has no saliva but he can actually taste things - still hit and miss but he's getting there but it's the fact that he now feels properly hungry and then wants to eat food which is amazing. He's not using the feeds into his RIGG because he wants rid of that as soon as possible so he uses that for his meds right now.
It's the little things that we are moving towards and counting wins.
Next step is the MRI and the wait for the results to see if it brings up a false positive and we have to wait another 3 months etc
He's sleeping a little better and his ulcers have all now gone which is also fabulous. His voice is rough and he still can't hear out is his good ear which he finds really tough but we are hopeful it's just time that is needed to heal from the radiotherapy as they have tested his ear and there is hearing there just temporarily blocked apparently! So we will see on that one.
Onwards and upwards!!
Heavens, he’s come on in leaps and bounds. Well done Mr LadyAH and thanks for posting a lovely update

Hope not but it does happen. I had a hotspot but no wait for me… had it biopsied five days later.

He really has - it was touch and go a week ago as to if they would re admit him to hospital as he hasn't eaten for 2 weeks etc so for this to be only a week down the line is honestly amazing
He's still weak and lethargic but that's so expected as he's hardly eaten anything in so long etc so that will build up as he eats more and more
It's done wonders for his mood and mental health etc which is lovely to witness
For others reading this Paul finished 5 sessions of chemo and 30 sessions of radiotherapy for T4 N1 P16+ HPV right tonsil cancer on 3 Jan 2025 so he's 10 weeks post treatment etc :)
Hi Thanks for update they do help others who will follow in your hubbys footsteps. Try to remain positive about his scan. I was almost 18 weeks before my pet ct scan my trust referent do it later than 12. Weeks to try and avoid the hot spots.
Hope he continues to progress some das we all went 2 steps forward and one step back don’t be disheartened if thus happens. It comes good in the end.

Great to hear that your husband is feeling so much better! Sounds like he's well on the way to recovery. So pleased for you both, after all you've been through.
Waiting for the MRI is hard but chances are it will be all clear. Then summer awaits!

Thanks Catriona - it's definitely a hard slog for everyone going through cancer and I do think anything involving the throat is really hard because it affects so much for a person!
We have booked a holiday as we had to cancel ours in November etc for obvious reasons haha - so yes indeed looking forwards to the warmer weather xx
