Hi people it’s been a while.
im at the consultant every 8 weeks no recurrence.

but  i hate food it’s such hard work.  And waking up every 2 hours to drink is becoming a bind

sorry had to gripe at someone and the wife’s  deserved a day off

  • Hi Paul

    That's great news...

Enjoyment of food certainly does take time to return but it does happen....now 20 months since stopping treatment and certain things that I used to enjoy are still no go areas....but things are still improving....curries are back on the menu...black pudding and chips....pizza.

  • Hi you’re kind giving wife a day off. I didn’t give hubby one, as he says if he had £1 for everytimec in first 2 years I said I’ve got a dry mouth he would be rich and run away.

Serious note have you tried xyimelts available online amazon if you want to try them if you  get on with them you can buy from hope to sleep if you get 4 packs or so works out cheaper I still use them 6.5 years  later.
A small spray bottle of water by bedside helps. I eventually learnt to sip water practically remaining asleep whilst doing it.

    good to hear from you.

  • Hi Paul.

Definitely try the Xylimelts as they worked really well for me and used to give me a good night's sleep. Unfortunately now unable to use them as I had more ops for jaw cancer and not much jaw left to stick them too. I now use Oral7 mouth moisturising gel along with Oral 7 moisturising spray which I use just before I apply the gel. They work quite well but I still have to re-apply once during the night. Definitely works better than sipping water only although a few sips before applying the moisturising gel does help. I buy them at my local chemist.

Food is hard work unfortunately but stick with it as it does become easier over time.
