I have been suffering from epithelial oral dysplasia on the left side of my tongue for almost 20 years and had number of wider excisions. The last time when I had the surgery, they found cancer. Luckily it was very small and it was surgically removed and no other treatment was required. That was last August and since the surgery, there is a place which is red and swollen near my wisdom teeth (same side of the surgery). My surgeon and consultant were not sure why so I requested for a biopsy.
I had the result this week and it was again moderate dysplasia. As I already had several surgeries and dysplasia keeps coming back, my surgeon is not convinced another surgery is the right solution. Anyway, he is going to discuss the options with my consultant.
For the last few years, my mouth has been always in pain due to the constant biopsies, ulcerations and surgeries. As I am finally free from pain, eating properly and feeling better, I am so gutted to hear the news.
I just wanted to share my story. Thanks for reading.

Hi Ultraman
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Hope your consultants come up with a plan for you. In the meantime thanks for update it’s always useful for others who may follow in your footsteps.
Best wishes
