Hi yesterday was my 67 th birthday wow have been a pensioner a whole year.
Another milestone I didn’t think I would reach in the dark days if May 2018 but I did.
Last night I chose Turkish restaurant to celebrate with family as a nod to my wonderful oncologist Dr Mehmet Sen at Leeds cancer centre. The above was an aubergine oven baked with flavourful mince onion tomatoes. Plus starter and baklava. Ok no spice but a dish that I didn’t think I would eat again. .
Hope thus helps everyone who undoubtedly eill/are following in my foot steps.
Hugs Hazel cc
Hi Hazel
Finished CRT in June 2023
Fantastic....well done.
My favourite meals were Madras and Jalfrezi before Chemoradio....impossible at this time ....but I have not given up hope....
We were down at St Andrews last week for a seafront chippy....one of life's little pleasures....even more so if you have walked the CRT walk.

Hi Hazel
Happy 67th birthday. Your post made my mouth water what a great birthday meal. A birthday is a wonderful reason to celebrate life and the progress that you have made over the last 5 years. I can't eat any of the things that you and the others have mentioned in their posts but I get great enjoyment out of the aromas. I am always smelling the food Terry eats and then I can remember exactly what they taste like. He had a turkey and cranberry foccacia for lunch yesterday and the smell of the foccacia (not sure if I am spelling that correctly ) was divine and it was as good as eating it for me. I think it is called 'eating by proxy' but it works really well.
Wishing you many more wonderful birthdays.
Love Lyn

Hi Lyn Thank you yes focaccia bread has a lovely aroma. We all do what we can the others all shared a huge spicy meat platter. I enjoyed my aubergine plate.
