A year ago today...

It exactly one year (tonight!) that I first discovered the lump on my neck... Feels like it's been manic ever since! Was eventually diagnosed on 23 June (having had tonsillectomy and biopsies on 12 June, after US/MRI and needle biopsy were all inconclusive). Started treatment on 24 July and finished on 1 September.  Spoke to my oncologist on Wednesday and have an appointment with ENT today. They were confident with results from scan at end of November but having another at end of Feb just to be doubly sure (as my neck was not fully healed on the previous one). Obviously can't help but have some worry until I've had that scan but think I am just starting to feel well again (as opposed to being ok/getting through it all). Lots of the late side effects are easing (not gone but getting better) and I am starting to feel like myself again.  Just trying to keep myself busy/distracted until my leap year scan on 29th...

  • Hello! Waiting for scan results after treatment is a really anxious time, I know. I can see from your profile that your cancer was HPV related which is good as they are very curable. Try not to worry - distract yourself with nice activities now you're feeling better - it sounds like you're recovering well. Good luck!
