Hi,
I was at our monthly H&NC meeting today and the leader of the group was talking about HPV 16+.She said how it can cause our cancer but doesn't necessarily stay in our systems.I was under the impression it does stay once you have it.
Any help with this one ?
Turi
No. Most people infected with HPV 16 and other high risk HPVs shake off the infection. Their immune system deals with it
And…. Of those who don’t shake it off and where the virus persists most don’t get cancer either.

We are at an increased risk of a second cancer....not a return of the first.
I don't have figures for the chance but it's low and one of those things you just have to put out of your mind

Hi Hazel
I have adopted the same attitude as you. I also have the chance of another cancer occurring due to the lichen planus I have. However that is only a 'maybe' so no point in worrying about it. Definitely no point worrying over something that may never happen. I'm out in the garden today in the process of making a Japanese garden in a neglected area of my garden. I find it very soothing already so should be really relaxed by the time I am finished making it, or very exhausted lol.

Hi Lyn. Am sure your garden will be very zen and you’ll be relaxed and chilled. Look forward to photos.
