It is trail, as Dani said. My oncologist mention last time, when i asked, how no one doesn’t do it, except them (private patients and in Royal Marsden).
Dani, they didn’t offered, just told me we are doing it but, i am ok with it. As, my oncologist is in research, i asked him if i can help in any way…
but, no need foe now…
thanks Dani

There are quite a few cancer centres involved now. We have a patient enrolled in the hospital in Wales where I was treated. Essentially it's to see if self monitoring might work in low risk patients. It means no routine follow up after your one year PET but access to the team straight away if you are worried. The frequent reviews that we get are considered a waste of time as they are generally unproductive. Most recurrence is spotted by the patient rather than on routine nasoendoscopy so it would free up the medical team to see other patients and reduce review stress.
I think it's a five year study now in its second year
