Thanks everyone for the advice. Just thought I would post an update that might be helpful to others in similar predicament. I have a quote from staysure (Thanks Hazel) and they have quoted me comprehensive annual multi- trip for £314.60 which I think is reasonable. Going to see what the bank have to say if they can do better.

Thanks again.

  • Hi Shaun you’re welcome. I’ve been  with them last 3 years. They’ve been excellent through covid and to be fair I’ve shopped around as well and no one can touch them with my length of stays.

  • Thanks Shaun, that's good to know as my annual travel insurance with Staysure runs out soon.  I took out the policy before I was diagnosed and they made a bit of a fuss when I told them but your experience suggests I will be able to renew OK.

    Enjoy your travels!

  • I’m trying to get some cover now , it’s got me banging my head on the table that’s for sure, no drop down box for head and neck so can I choose nasopharyngeal cancer?

  • Which insurance company are you trying?

  •

  • Hi GazG

Yes that's the box i selected for my quote. Just to mention I informed my holiday insurance arranged via virgin money and explained previous treatment and current status with scan showing clear 3 weeks ago. They advised there will be no additional charges but I will not be covered for anything related to cancer. I have opted to go with this option. As previous folk have suggested on this site, you are obliged to inform your banks holiday insurance as this could invalidate the standard cover if say you break a leg or something. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Are you sure the insurance company wouldn’t wiggle out if you have the wrong cancer in the quote ?

  • That's a good point Dani, on the Insurancewith website all the different cancers are listed.
