Well, I've been discharged and it's all over except the regular checks.

  • Excellent news!  Onwards and upwards x

  • Hi Dani I spoke to the oncologist in depth He said there was no active sign or evidence of cancer and I am in remission. He explained with cutting cancer out they usually cut out good tissue to get the 5mm margin but in my case they could not get this so there could still be cancer there. They are going to give me scans head and neck and chest for the next few years. So Happy days so far . He told me to try and lead a normal life and not think about the cancer if possible. Back in 6 weeks time for another check up , All the Best Regards Minmax

  • Do you mean you had a throat scan and they said its ok but it isn't, it's back?  I just got the results after chasing them for a week, and have been told its all clear!  It's doesn't feel it!  This is beginning to really worry me. They wants to see me in ENT 'as a matter of urgency' but didn't give me an appointment. So that will mean a further round of phone calls.  I've tried to contact my Macmillan nurse but she hasn't responded now 3cdays!  It's causes a lot of anxiety.  I really pray that everything goes well for you.   X.  Pauline

  • Hi Alfienangel I had base of tongue cancer that spread to both sides of my neck . It was treated and I got the all clear until someone ran in to the back of van in september I had surgery in november for a salvage neck dissection where they removed 33 lymph nodes two which were cancerous , they could not remove all the cancer as it was to deep and in two places , I had a MRI scan a few weeks back and its come back all clear. Thanks Pauline it is very easy to jump the gun on these things , I had similar and actually thought they were going to give me bad news but the surgeon said he just wanted to check I was ok , So take these things with a pince of salt All the Best Regards Marc Try not to worry
