Hi,
This afternoon at very short notice I had my wisdom tooth out (lucky - not sure that's the right word - I managed to get called in as there was a cancellation!) . Now that the numbness has worn off it's pretty sore. I've taken paracetamol and I also have a few codeine pills left over after my tonsillectomy, so I think it's an early night for me. The hospital dentist had her work cut out as it was a very stubborn tooth that took a lot of pulling ands twisting, with a huge amount of pressure. my jaw, cheek and lip are probably going to be very sore and bruised tomorrow. The tooth was absolutely huge - I was so surprised as only a part of it had been sticking out, partially erupted, so it really was like an iceberg! She did a good job and I was in the chair for less than 20 minutes and only had 1 stitch!
Next milestone is getting my CT planning scan and mask made - which is now booked in for next Wednesday. Things are moving along now....

Ha ha! Stanley does like star wars, so I may use that one when he starts to ask questions in a few weeks, once he sees me trotting off to the daily RT sessions. Cool points!
Yes, the nurse also mentioned about the eye holes today when she was talking me through the next phase.

Hi Helen you can also bring your mask home and get him to help paint it with yiu. Mine hangs in the garage and we brought her out for our ruby wedding party as without her I wouldn’t have been there. Yes the mask was a she. Venizia.

Hi Helen,

i had but more then wisdom tooth out last Friday as had two crowns, so had 4 tooth out and prepared 3 for implants.
I said to my kids “mummy had beauty treatment and will look even better”
i’ve done my mask even i was bit swollen and I wasn’t stressed out, afraid. I am in RMH and they were fantastic, room was really colourful and music was lovely, so my experience was really good.
i am wishing you best luck
and, as everyone said - take day by day

Hi Marta - you had quite a big dental experience on top of treatment planning - well done for keeping your spirits up! I can tell you're a super positive person and I am too - this will help us, I really believe! We will undoubtedly have our dark moments (already have) but then that is what this group is for!
Good luck and keep us all updated,
Helen
Hehehe yep, was quit a bit experience!
I am positive with love and faith from all my family and friends, I can’t be different generally, i am very positive and happy person!
So, i would say - just positive as you are! I read somewhere you are having young kids?
i have 13 and 4… teens are even worst then 4 to explain…
Do you have speech therapist?
Love marta x
Hi Marta,
I don't have an appointment with a speech therapist yet, but I expect I will get one. I have an appointment to make my mask and CT scan planning next Wednesday, so things are coming together
I can imagine that teens will ask more questions. I have 2 step daughters (12 + 19) we will be talking to them this weekend probably. My 7-year-old son was not very interested, but just asked am I going to be staying at hospital. I said I'd be going to hospital for a bit during the day but coming home afterwards (I do have a 1 night stay in hospital after putting my PEG / RIG in). He seemed satisfied and then talked about dinosaurs haha!

Cool wed is close! Good luck with it, and i wishing you my experience-just relax
love dinosaurs story bless him.
Unplanned, my son was with us in the hospital yesterday (he and my hubby were in amazing Magi’s house) and he was happy, even every time when i asked him to come he rejected it.
I think is tough with kids deal with all if this, but i am taking everything easy and with fun… so, somehow is easier.
i do hope you will have speech therapist as i got some exercises, and I thought maybe should send them to all?
I assume everyone will have speech therapist, no?
Marta x
Oh bless, yes kids deal with things in their own little way. I think you're right to keep it light and positive with a bit of fun.
Yes, I hope I'll meet mine soon, maybe when I go for the planning scan & mask. I think everyone get's regular meetings with a speech therapist and exercises to do Your experience sounds great, hope my mask making is relaxing too!
