Hi, I have no idea if I have done this right but I have started my first week of tonsil cancer treatment.
Just wanted to come and say hello as Dani suggested.
I would like to wish you all luck on this journey.
First week has been OK, just very tired, but other than that nothing to worry about as in reactions.
Just yesterday I wasn't very hungry as food didn't taste very nice.
Thank you.

I just don't want to be a pain to anyone.
THAT was exactly my first thought. But you have to put that away. You won’t be a burden to your family so please get them galvanised now. By 4 weeks you won’t be able to drive and you will feel pretty rough. Also once you’re on morphine you can’t.
At your next RT ask about patient transport again. You’re not asking for somebody to take you in for blood tests or a minor procedure. The radiographers know exactly what’s needed so get them to get things moving properly. The transport is your right. The hospital isn’t doing you a favour.
Have you a Maggie’s near you?
If you are in your own the support they offer is especially wonderful

Hi, well done on getting through your first week - first box ticked! As others have said, the treatment can be quite a challenge as the weeks go on. Don't be worrying about asking questions or being a burden. I told my team about every tiny little symptom, issue and change. There are quite often fixes that I had no idea about so it's always worth mentioning. Same with transport. There were a few people who had transportation whilst I was on treatment. Your team will not be expecting you to have to get a bus so they'll help you sort. I was (and still am) in regular touch with my Macmillan Nurse who was / is an absolute star and got loads sorted. Keep ticking the boxes...

There must be something near me I just don't seem to be getting any support, more being made to feel guilty for asking.
Get your CNS on board. Mine was a godsend.
