Hi, so I've read enough on here now to know I will not be stopping work the day before treatment and starting again the day after! Silly me!

I'm a bit of an over thinker so have stopped reading for now. As a single parent of 3 furries and the only source of income, how long should I expect to be off work? I will have to give up my part-time job and of course overtime at my main job will be out of the question. In the old days I would have been able to just retire by now and not have to worry about it.

I know everybody is different , but has anybody returned to full time work?

Hi again. Six months is a ball park figure. You should be able to organise a phased return.

Hi Lindy. As Dani says a ball park figure is 6 months I’ve known one or 2 return earlier and the odd one manage to work a few weeks into treatment. Plan a phased return in conjunction with your work. Treatment is pretty brutal purely because of where we are treated. Our mouths throats take a hammering.

Thanks Hazel. My employers are really supportive so it shouldn't be a problem. They were shocked I was in last week after my biopsy. I think my expectations are higher than theirs xx

Hi it’s Angela …I managed to start part time two months after treatment but definitely would not have been able to do full time …8 months on feel well enough for full time x
