Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like I am. I finished Radiotherapy to my tongue and both sides of my neck in December. Since then I am finding that I am developing an itchy throat to the most sensitive smells. I am also reacting to new moistures and other healthcare products. Has anyone else experienced the same or anything similar?

thank you in advance.

  • Hi. I find that most moisturisers dry my mouth out so it must be the vapours coming off them. I use Aveeno which seems ok

It was a year before I could use Duraphat because of the SLS and mint

  • Hi

For me it wasn’t my throat, but my ears became very itchy at times which for me is a classic allergy reaction - similar to the reaction I get to air fresheners and the like.  I took loratadine as I would for hay fever and it settled things down a bit.

  • Hi

I often get a tickle in the back of my  throat to certain smells and start to cough.I sip on one of my nutritional ‘feed drinks’like fortispis and it then stops. Maybe sipping on a cold drink or smoothie could possibly help ?

My neck also reacts on and off to moisturisers ( tried 5 now plus aloe vera)Aveeno was great in the beginning but then skin started to itch , Each one seems to be fine for a few weeks and then my skin becomes red and very itchy.Alternating seems to help me personally.Speak to your Gp/Team or Deramtologist.

Hope you find something that helps
