Hi all, my husband has finished week 4 of treatment and now 3 more weeks to go. He is having 35 radiotherapy and 3 chemo. He’s rig feeding Ensures - told to have 8 a day and is doing well. He had been getting a bit of taste from sipping warm coffee but now it just tastes salty even water does now. Can anyone recommend from their experience other fluids that they could get a bit of taste from? Thank you x
Hi. Sadly most of us end up with no taste or horrid taste through treatment.
I found diet cola and diet ginger ale the most refreshing but I couldn’t taste it.
Strangely I could taste the Fortisips I had simply because they smelled so awful.

I know what you mean with the smell or after taste as i know which flavour im having despite it going through the tube, i did write to Abbott who make Ensures asking why they dont making better tasting drinks, i.e savoury. I never got a reply

I must admit i also have the Alchol Free Guiness along with with the normal Guiness its just nice to have something different which is not gassy. Cheers.
