Hi all,
Hi all,
In advance of my RT starting on Monday, the radiologist called me yesterday to discuss a few things. He advised me to put E 45 or Avenida cream on my neck before and after treatment. I told him that I had read of many people who swear by aloe vera, he said that they don’t recommend that at all, because it’s more like an oil and will fry skin!
I was under the impression that I would be given a batch of stuff to cope with side-effects when I first start treatment, but this seems not to be the case. Anyway, I just wondered if people had thoughts about the best cream to use? I also thought it was odd that he told me to put cream on before treatment as well as after……
Following this chat with him, I plan to do as I’ve been told, but I would be interested to know of other peoples thoughts on this. Thanks in advance, Bridget
Thanks - very informative!!

Hi Bridget
I was told not to put anything on my neck before treatment. After treatments I used Balmonds plant-based cream, as I don't like the paraffin-based ones the NHS gives you. I also think my cold swimming helped! My neck was OK until the end of treatment when it was like bad sunburn but quickly healed up.
Sending love & solidarity
