My Dad is terminal with his Sinus Cancer and we don’t know how long he’s got!
My mother complains about the smell coming from his nose and mum is making him feel like a Lepper, keeeps going on about it!
Any suggestions that might help with this?.. Make Dads life a little easier and happier!
Hello
This brought tears to my eyes. Your poor Dad really doesn’t need this. Is Dani’s suggestion of a spell of respite in a hospice really such anathema? He would have a period of time in a supportive environment where he would be treated with kindness and respect- and your mother too would have a break. Her suggestion of an education session with a district nurse also sounds eminently sensible if it could be arranged.
My own cancer treatment was easily as tough on my husband as it was on me….and we are rock solid as a partnership. It must truly be hell for both of your parents if they are dealing with this in an atmosphere of conflict and tension. I feel for you. My parents had a difficult relationship and it tore me apart. I don’t have any answers I’m afraid. Just treasure your Dad for as long as you have him.

Hello, not sure if this would apply to your dad but if he has something called a fungating tumour then an antibiotic cream called metronidazole can help with the smell. Have a chat with your dads care team and they can advice if this is something that would help, sending you lots of hugs xx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
