Hi i went to ent today for a sore throat and suspected lpr he told me he cud see a cyst on my tongue that dosnt look suspicious but still want to do a biopsy and mri i am peteofied buy hibby say i shud be happy the fact he said it doant look suspicious can they really tell by looking at it if so why does he want a biopsy and mri ?

Your Dr is being thorough. It’s good that he is.
Imagine if he told you he had seen something but sent you home telling you not to worry.
He’s doing the investigation to make sure his benign diagnosis is right.
Most referrals ( 90%) are not cancer.
You will worry so try not to look for answers on Google. Keep busy, enjoy Christmas and chase them up in the new year if an appointment hasn’t arrived.
