Ive spent the weekend in hospital having my feeding tube fitted, I was not expecting it to be quite so painful but I know it's for the best & hopefully the pain is short lived.
Tomorrow is my first day of radiotherapy, so please keep me in your thoughts xx
Hi Loopyliz
Having the tube is a real benefit and you will soon get used to it. I'm 12 weeks post radiotherapy now and still rely on mine. You will forget it's there after a while.
Good luck with your radiotherapy, it can seem like a long journey at the beginning but trust me, the weeks fly by.
Hope everything goes ok.
Hi Loopyliz, the tube will be a bit painful for a few days, make sure you keep on top of it with painkillers. The feeding tubes are well worth having, if eating becomes difficult during or after your treatment, it will take all the worry out of not eating. Good luck for today, stick with us, we are all here to help you along the way, any worries or questions just ask, and of course always keep your team up to date, on how you are.
Ray.

Hi Loopy
I had a PEG fitted, pain for a few days then OK...keep on top of any pain with meds....watch out for any infections....feeding tubes are life savers.
Make sure you have plenty of pain meds to cover weekends and bank hols....if something goes wrong it usually happens when nobody is available....
Good luck with the treatment, keep the forum updated with your progress.

That’s good. One ticked off. I was fascinated. I watched every change of the beam and listened to every click and whine of the gantry.
