Hi was wondering if anyone experienced this. I'm 19 weeks post RT now. Had head neck dissection and stage one cancer cut from my tongue. No lymphnodes spread. My question is I get a lot of water blisters on my tongue but have never had any sores on my cheeks etc. all seems to be on my tongue . Yesterday I developed a white patch looking sore on my cheek opposite the top of my upper teeth. It felt like an ulcer but is only white. I'm obviously very worried now and have to wait till Monday to contact my nurse. Just wondering can RT still do this or should I be worried. I am stressing about it today. Could it be irritation or something else. Thank you.

Dry mouth causes lots of problems like this. Even early on in recovery the three week rule is a good one. If it’s still there three weeks after you spot it then have it looked at.
It’s really hard early on but does get easier.

Hi I can still get ulcers on my cheeks even 6 years later. Like Dani says the 3 week rule is a good one. None if mine ever lasted more than 10-12 days. I used to use the gelclair that I had in treatment. Now I can use bonjela think it would be too strong for you. I also have aloclair in my emergency pack most chemist sell that or Amazon.
For me food used to set them Off simple things like cheese yoghurt couldn’t go near vinegar tomatoes anything minty the list was long. Plus of course dry mouth is also a major issue.
Try not to worry but yes contact your cns on Monday to ease your mind. They may want a photograph sending if you’re not due to see them.

Thank you Hazel, I know I'm probably overthinking it . Just so early in my recovery and it worries me. I will phone my nurse on Monday. My max fax consultant is so good he will bring me in to look at it. That will reassure me. I just had my monthly apt on Wednesday past. Feel stupid annoying them soooo soon. Thank you hazel for your help xxxx
It will get easier. I was lucky I never stressed but we are all different.
Let us know how you get on
