Morning. My husband was due to have his second dose of chemo today but his wbc is too low. Hopeful that he might have it next week - week 5. Anyone had this problem and how likely is it his count will have improved by next week? Feeling very down as we had really psyched ourselves up for today.

  • Hi. It’s common to not have the whole course. So don’t worry. It’s the radio that kills the cancer. Is he having something to boost his count?

  • Thanks Dani. His oncologist told us it would give him roughly a 5% increase in a cure to have the second dose.At present they are not giving him an injection. I think he is borderline so hoping it will improve Fingers crossed

  • Hi, I was due 6 chemo but only got 5 as in hospital for last one, as Dani says quite common and nothing to worry about

    Hi Worrylo

    Cisplatin?

I had 4 out of a planned 6 chemos...oncology were happy with this.....I was willing but my body was just not strong enough to take it.....No3 and No6 were missed.

    Take care

  • Hi ai was planned to have 3 infusions but only had 2  infusions it not uncommon around 70% of us don’t have the full course my oncologist told me. As Dani say radiotherapy is the main course of treatment chemo is an add-on
