Just had a biopsy on neck lymph tumour on wednesday now I have noticed it's suddenly changed shape it's got a point on it is this normal after a biopsy the tumour is halfway down right side of my neck
Hi New and lost
If there’s anything that’s worrying you I would give the hospital a ring, especially if it’s hot and painful.

It is not painful or hot just it has changed shape I am worrying about everything at the moment I am having a head and neck scan on Sunday so I may be a bit more relaxed when I get my results thank you for replying and if it starts hurting I will contact hospital
I am worrying about everything at the moment
You are going to...it's an awful time waiting for results and all we can do is try to keep busy and I always recall how many people here contacted their GP for mild sleeping pills if they were getting worn out from little sleep. I suppose if you had a core biopsy the lymph node might bleed inside which would probably account for the shape change.
Are you having an MRI on Sunday?

Yes it's tomorrow a MRI. I was wondering if the biopsy could have caused the change in shape.
Good luck. It's a long scan and some of these rooms aren't the warmest so wear something warm. Your biopsy result should be through in two weeks, all results will go to the multidisciplinary team MDT before your next appoint. You will feel much much better when a plan is in place and we are all here for you in the meantime.
(MDT where healthcare professionals from various relevant specialties come together to share patient information and collaboratively decide on a comprehensive treatment plan)

Yes thank you for replying going to try and get early night it's the sleeping that's the problem
Hi, not long had the same thing. My neck is also on the right and actually changes size and shape, the tumour is behind my right tonsil and has maintained size and shape. The consultant said it must be my immune system fighting the cancer in the lymph node. Have you been assigned a specialist cancer or Macmillan nurse who you can ring or text? Best of luck x x
No I haven't had a McMillan nurse assigned yet I have been told that will happen when I have seen the consultant after them MRI
