Evening everyone.

So ive had my biopsies, CT, and just waiting for MRI. For the last week ive felt like something is stuck in the back of my throat. I actually had this last May and again a bit in September. Id put it down to smoking too much (well all smoking is too much, but you know what i mean}. It doesnt feel like its in the area of my swollen tonsil, more the back of my throat. Has anyone else had this sensation?.

  • Do you have reflux?

It's easy to imagine all sorts of pain and odd sensation once we know doctors are looking at our throats. I'm sure your surgeon has biopsied all the bits that are suspicious...just in case you're worrying that something has spread or he's missed something

  • Hi Vic, my first symptom was also a sense of something in my throat which was then followed by a swelling on the side of my neck. I did initially think it was reflux, perhaps due to Christmas over indulgenceRelaxed however it soon be clear clear something was amiss and once diagnosed my feet did not touch the ground.

  • Thanks John,

Yeah, its an odd one as its come and gone in the last 6 months. At the moment it pretty annoying! Laughing

  • Its more that its super annoying and wondered if they were connected in any way. Like a had to keep trying to swallow something. Something else i was wondering is does a lmyth node have to be obviously swollen for it to contain cancer cells?. As the side i have the swollen tonsil feels more lumpy than the other side but you wouldnt know unless you pressed it.

I’m afraid not. But trust your team. I was classed as having no nodal spread but when I looked at the diagnostic scan I could spot one small lymph node that might have been involved. The radiotherapy took care of it. 5 years later I’m still here and well.
