Hi everyone
So hubby just finnished his first week of intense chemo TPF. Stayed in velindra for 5 days but has absolutely wrecked him to the point they will not be giving him second dose.
Since chemo he has lost one half stone in weight cannot eat, in totaly agony with stomach and back to point he cannot open bowels. Had scan at hospital no blockage nothing has anyone else experianced this.
If he eats hes in agony also smell and taste gone. Starts radiotherapy two weeks time.
Hi Cazza2190
So sorry to hear your husband is suffering so much. TPF is really heavy duty chemo and the side effects are awful. I can’t recall anybody else here having this for some time. The usual chemo is Cisplatin without the other two and given during RT. I’ll search around for you.
Having said that, I have a friend who had Fluorouracil alongside her cisplatin and made a pretty good recovery. She must be over three years clear now
Is he still in hospital? It sounds like he should be. Hugs

This is the most recent.
The search function isn’t very good here but it works better on a phone.
if you tap the lens at the top left ( not the search in the middle lower down) and put in TPF there are a few threads.

I remember you posted about a lot if this nearly two weeks ago. How can they leave him like this for so long?
I know his PEG placement was postponed. Did he get one in the end?

Possibly one down nose but no sign of either x
I managed with one of those for 8 weeks so don’t despair.

Hi I like Dani managed a ng tube for 6 weeks so any help just shout out we can offer tips. Hooe he gets sorted soon too is a strong cocktail of chemo. Do you have a date for radiotherapy to start? Re bowels has he been given laxido or movicol you can take 6-8 sachets to clear impacted poo ? But presume that’s been tried?
