Hi week 5 chemo radio orophargeal cancer and really struggling with the saliva tainting everything when trying to eat , failed to have feeding tube fitted but managing weight ok with nutritional drinks but miss texture and the wallpaper paste saliva tainting everything , have the mouthwashes and the baking soda and salt none make any difference , on oramorph and cocodamol as also had the full neck disection route , if I could crack the saliva issue I would be so much happier any suggestions ??
Hi Justin. It’s just time. Six weeks RT then up to three weeks as it peaks so you’re talking about 4/5 weeks yet. What sort of tube are you talking about? An NG should be easy to fit and you could by pass your mouth for a while.

Oh that’s awful. So sorry. Maybe try the drinks really cold? Your taste buds are being wrecked which is why food tastes so bad.
I use BioXtra mouthwash which is mild. Have you tried that?
