Hi everyone, I’m starting chemo in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone here has had a weekly dose of Docetaxel plus Carboplatin for 3 weeks and could share their experience? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Sharon. Welcome to the group.
It’s not a common combination in head and neck cancer but it is in breast cancer

The search function here is rubbish I’m afraid so might I suggest you ask that question in the breast cancer group. You’re likely to get a speedy reply.
Then come back to us if you  need advice on radiotherapy or if you just want a chat about our cancer

    Best wishes

  • Many thanks Dani, I also have base of tongue mass but they think it started in a salivary gland. It also spread to my spine and I had 5 radiotherapy sessions as it was painful and extending into the central canal. I felt ok the week of radiotherapy and then got really tired and couldn’t work for a couple of weeks. It’s so hard to know what to expect! At least I have a few weeks to build up my energy before chemo. Thanks again for replying and I hope things are going well for you. Sx

  • So sorry Sharon. It’s a tough choice what to have. I’m glad the RT has helped the spinal mets.
Are you being considered for surgery of any kind ?

  • Many thanks for replying. No talk of surgery at present. I think they’re focusing on chemo as it’s multiple sites. Hope you have a lovely day x
