Hi All
Well I made iit through 7 weeks of daily radiotherapy and managed 2 chemos but sadly spent 4 (7-10 day)stays in hospital.
So one week after finishing and I have another problem the severe burrns on my neck. Been using Flamazine daily but havent noticed any improvements. Very sore, bleeding and so painful.
Thinking of trying a polyMem bandage as cleaning of the cream each day is becoming more difficult.
Any advice appreciated
Thank you
Debbie
Well done for getting through it. These next 3 weeks coykd be your hardest yet - in my experience - but it does get better. I put sudocrem on my neck and it healed it over time, but it was red, sore, flaky and scabby for a good 10 days.
Be kind to yourself get lots of sleep and drink plenty if you can by mouth if not through your feeding tube. I had liquid food through my peg and when I didn’t have it because I felt very nauseous I got very weak - so get some food into your system if you can.
This is my 11th week since treatment and I feel a lot stronger - so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I started to improve - very slowly after 2-3 weeks.
sending you lots of positive vibes
Thank you glad to hear your coming through the other side ….. these days are very dark
Well done on getting through the treatment! Debbie!
I was given 'Flamigel RT' when I started Radiotherapy and told to use it 5 - 6 times per day. Compared to the cream, this was a gel that absorbed very well and there was no residue requiring cleaning. My neck skin broke down in Week 1 post Tr. I was given a sponge type dressing to wear, but turned out I was allergic to it.
In addition to the Flamigel I used E45 lotion on the unbroken area and my neck healed completely in about 10 days.
Hope this helps, Tina
Thanks Tina,
Im exausted from soaking it to clean it been trying since 10 this morning I will ask them if there is anything else to try as this isnt working for me x
