I have just received this box of goodies from the Swallows, thank you, any recommendations about what is good, and when and how to use it? I start RT Thursday 23rd November for 6 weeks. Thanks for any advice.

The Mucosamin is going to come in handy. The toothpastes are all ok but you will probably be given Duraphat. Can I see a sachet of BioXtra mouthwash? That’s what I use. It’s soothing and emollient
I’m not familiar with the toothbrush. I managed to use an electric one on a gentle setting with a gentle head Lots can’t and found one made by Curaprox to be better
You’ll likely be given Gelclair, Caphosol and Difflam mouthwashes and an explanation of how to use them. I strongly suggest you do
The mints are going to be impossible after a couple of weeks till you are well healed.
Good luck and keep in touch with us

Hi Sue. I still can’t use Durophat as too strong. I use the oranurse toothpaste which I think I can see in your box

I couldn’t use Duraphat for nearly two years. I had a fluoride varnish at the hygienist every three months to make up for it and used Oranurse like you.

Hi Dani. Yes, I actually go to hygienist every month as I have a ‘pocket’ behind the back tooth which causes problems!!!!!! And I have a fluoride varnish every 3 months. Lizzie x

Hi Sue
All I would add is that I used a baby toothbrush for several weeks during treatment because I couldn't tolerate anything else. I don't know if the bamboo toothbrush is similar? x
Interesting, as I have been prescribes 6 tubes from the dentist, I’ll have to see how it goes
I’m wondering about flouride varnish after this, I’ll adk my hygienist
Hi yes I have fluoride varnishes every 3 months. You may have to wait until your mouth settles down after treatment. But I think they are worthwhile.
The toothbrush I used was a Curoprox one with over 5000 bristles very gentle.
