Hi Everyone , My partner has just finished rt a few weeks ago but suffering with swelling - Lymphodema as had mandibular cancer and had he's jaw reconstructed from bone and skin from the leg. Has anyone had Lymphatic drainage massage and does it work ? Also is there anyone in Essex that's had it and where did you get it done as it's getting my partner down now and he's been so positive all the way through .... my mission is to try and get the information and get this sorted for him as long to see a smiling positive Paul again . Thanks in advance
Hi BridgeI am not sure this will be any help but maybe ask the Helen Rawlinson Trust based in Hatfield Peverel near Chelmsford as I know they used to offer massage therapy but not sure if it will be what you are after but they may be able to push you in the right direction.
Don't worry we all misplace our smile for a while when going through this but he will find it again.
Best wishes to you both x
Hiya , that's great thank you and i thought i had read that name at the rt department. I have emailed them so fingers crossed . I totally understand as you guys are truly inspiration that you keep going and i have the upmost respect for anyone going through this and like you said he will find it again . Wishing you all the best xx
Hi there. Lymphatic drainage definitely helped me. I went to a fab lady in Guildford, but that is too far for you. I also wore a Hereford collar at lot during the first year of recovery. My hospital (Marsden) had a lymphodema clinic attached to it I got some advice there. Best wishes. Lizzie
Hi Lizzie , that's good to hear and i will try and contact the hospital he had the rt at to see if they can advise then. Thank you though and good to hear it works i will do some more research

Must centres run a lymphodema clinic. Capacity may be a problem so fingers crossed.

I was very upset about it for a long time , but it has REALLY improved now. I just get a bit of ‘puffiness’ under my eyes now, on and off. No one would notice really. My consultant at the Marsden was very sure that lymphodema always goes down in our type of cancer. (Gravity something to do with it I think). Best wishes. Lizzie
You’re very welcome. I just had some under my chin and managed massage on my own though I was offered a lymphatic clinic appointment. You should get it sorted. Lymphodema left alone can get hard and permanent
Hi Dani , that's great thank you
