I have been ill on and off since january 2020 , when I say ill I mean more from cancer treatment and heart failure which is just another hurdle to deal with. I wanted to recovery as quickly as I could so made a point of trying to walk and do things for myself from the word go. I gave up pain relief in general fairly quickly as not required . I would walk every day or whenever I could and found this really helped with my recovery. I really cannot emphasize how much it has helped me recover after major surgery last year. The physiotherapist says I am doing great. The Cardiologist says my feet should be swollen up due to heart failure . Not impressed with that at all lol . The point I wish to make is just move if you want to recover quicker.
Hi Minmax
I totally agree, before my 2 cancer ops, I rang marathons and competed in triathlons. I cycled ran and swam several times a week. About 4 months later I started to train again, it was hard but I stuck at it. My consultant and nurse told me off a few times lol, but it’s paid off. Keeping moving kept me motivated, and the fabulous support on this website was a life saver for me x
Hi Debbie Sounds like your a bit hard core already lol . Well done you getting back into the groove. I was actually told I had cancer over the phone when in a customers house , which wasn't ideal. I agree 100% about this website being a life saver. It was bad enough getting cancer but didnt help when partner of over 30 years wanted to go. I really believe walking helped save my life physically and mentally All the Best Regards Minmax
