Hi all wonder if I could get some advice please . I am now 2 weeks post treatment, 30 radio and 6 chemo . Approx how long before the mucus starts to ease up . I think I can detect a slight difference between last week and this but it’s only slight .  Thank you

  • Hi Alan. Mine dried up suddenly at around 4 weeks to be replaced by little saliva. That  took months to improve.

  • That’s good to know that is not far down the road . Any improvement I will take as a positive because up to now everything has seemed to be downhill . Think I can see a light it’s very dim but sure I am not imagining it .

  • Alan, at two weeks you are right at the height of short term side effects. The RT effects peak at 2/3 weeks after treatment end. This is a generalisation but people tend to feel a bit better b y six weeks and turn a significant corner at twelve. BUT we are all different. You're over the worst. It's now a slog to get better
