I have a question, please. I end treatment on the 20 January. I then go into weeks 7 and 8. The symptoms are likely to peak around Valentine's day. (Nice). What can I expect post treatment in 7 and 8.

  • Likely the same as you have when you finish. My pain didn’t get any worse. I plateaued at around the end of week 4 but I was oh so tired; absolutely shattered and defeated. I dozed for  two weeks just getting up to walk round the garden ever so slowly.

  • Hi exactly like Dani for  first 2 weeks I slept a lot , make sure I was on adequate painkillers.  Aimed for 2000-2500 calories a  day via ng tube and 2-3 litres of water. My ng tube was removed week 3. I walked every day not big walks but each day a little further.

  • Thank you. I'm hoping to avoid a nasal feeding tube for 5 and 6. My consultant says I'm doing wwell.I try to keep fit. To be honest, just treatment and everything is a full-time job.

It sure is. I had all my meds and mouth stuff on a list pinned up the kitchen. The clever guys did spread sheets and you can now get apps that remind you what to do and when.

  • Hi Steve. It is I remember thinking Groundhog Day.  You had  no sooner had finished one lot  if feeding drinking oral hygiene medication ticked everything off it was start again time. Just make sure on your last week you’ve enough medication as I found the g o wasn’t as accommodating as hospital.
good luck in next 2 weeks.
