Steve; tonsil cancer. HPV Stage 2
Hi all, into day 7. No real effects yet, so I'm making the most of the good days with gentle excersise, good food, and teaching myself to draw. I'm fully stocked on laxatives as well. I'm distancing myself from people, who mean we'll, but fall into the battle cancer trap.

Yes, it becomes really wearing and worse when they throw God into the mix. I got a bit of that.
It's because they don't know how else to encourage you. I didn't need encouragement. I had fought a lot of demons myself on the way to being cured but a friendly word about real life was what I needed. I box of chocolates...even though I couldn't eat them, a cup of tea and a gossip with friends, a jolly good laugh. These were the things I missed. I think folk are frightened of cancer patients. I found a few friends fell away. Their loss....I am a beautiful person now

Hi Steve and Dani , sounds like a good start for you Steve, you sound strong and in a good frame of mind Both your comments about battles , cancer and well meaning people made me smile on one of those dark days you get post treatment . So thank you for making me smile. Reminded me of when I was very unwell in about week 6 and someone sent me a book (again very well meaning) about how to cure cancer by diet. I know I’ve had this conversation already on this site but the book arrived at a point when I was so sick I couldn’t even watch tv let alone read. I threw the book across the room (im so placid not like me at all). The words positive and battle made me want to scream. Anyway just wanted to share this. Debbie x

You couldn’t make it up, eh? Hope you’re feeling a little better on this sunny day. Hugs
