Just had 3rd chemo and struggling. I appear to end up with excess mucus, this makes me gag and then I’m sick. I’m struggling to eat as I feel everything catches in my throat.
Not sure if the is due to larynx or the mass in my neck pressing on it. Scared to phone n muskrat incase I’m admitted. I feel so awful. I’m mouth washing with bicarbonate, sipping water. Tried flat Diet Coke everything tastes awful. I’m so scared that this isn’t working and the cancer is getting worse(CUP).
Hi Lynne. You’re not having Radiotherapy are you?
This all sounds like side effects of the treatment. Don’t be afraid to contact your team. They are best placed to help you, honestly.

Chemo only at the moment. Weight is dropping off me, house constantly smells of cleaning products as paranoid house smells of sick.(I cough, I gag I’m sick). I’m just feeling so low
Yes it’s the chemo. Avoiding metal cutlery us supposed to help too. Honestly it will pass.
Might some mild antidepressants from the GP help ? Quite a few people find it does.

Hi Lynne sadly it’s the chemo I thought I smelled but everyone reassured me I didn’t. I found plastic cutlery helped as I had a terrible metallic taste. Please contact your team they are best placed to advise , you might need your medication tweaking or maybe your hydration levels topping up a quick few hours being rehydrated by a drip . Don’t be afraid to contact them.

Poor you. The Taxol is pretty horrid stuff. Yes do see your team for help getting through.
Another thing I’ve just thought of. Is there a Maggie’s near you. The centres can be a great place to find support.
