Hi there I have just received my appointment letter to go for my first ultrasound after treatment has finished, I was just wondering how long roughly do you have to wait on results. Sparkling heartSparkling heart

  • Ultrasound?
Most of us have a PET/CT or MRI

Results are usually available to consultant in three working days but then the MDT has to meet before you’ll be seen. Two weeks is probably a good bet. Having said that some folk have been telephoned with their good news by their CNS.
Best thing would be to phone yours up and ask. Save you worrying if they seem to take ages.

  • Good evening Arelene, i have had ultrasound scans done mainly to check when i  had issues or felt something was not right, sometimes they do it for speed and to cut back on radioactive material entering the body, if they see anything abnormal they will then do further scans if nothing comes up they will just keep an eye on you, it used to be about two weeks max for the results, maybe quicker if they find or see something. Good luck with your results, take care.
