Hi guys I wrote a few days ago regarding my concern for my spouse catching covid pre-surgery. I had so many reassuring and supportive responses so want to thank you all.
He went into surgery this morning (covid free) and I am waiting to hear back that everything went ok. Apparently the surgeries arranged together meant up to 12 hours in theatre. Please keep him in your prayers (if you are that way inclined).  Obviously we are on to the next stage of our journey and I just hope surgery and recovery go well. He will be in intensive care for a few days and I am just hoping everything is going to be ok.

Thankyou for your help everyone

  • You are welcome 1226, thanks for this update and pleased your husband managed to avoid Covid and the surgery went ahead as planned, i know 12 hours sounds a long time but he will be in good hands like i was, he will be very groggy for the next two days and will not remember much. Please re-post if you have any concerns and wish your husband all the best for his recovery and to you as it can be just as hard for the partner or carer, Sending hugs , take care.

  • Hi again. Good news that the surgery went ahead as planned. Hopefully your husband is back on ITU. How long will he be in hospital and are you able to visit? I hope you can. I don't pray, but I will do something else.

One day at a time and you'll both get through.

    Take care xxx
