Hi all,

         Had my Peg Removed yesterday!

Don't want to use colourful language so will just describe it in black and white.......OUCH!

  • That's unfortunate, first time I've heard someone report it being painful, strange; but at least you're rid of it now!

    Cheers Mikeo,

Yes, was not expecting that for sure.

Glad he never told me when he was about to pull it but was such a shock to the system. Finally pain settled after about 2hrs.

  • Oh dear. And there’s all of us telling you it would be ok Wink

  • That is surprising, that it was painful. The district nurse took mine out, completely painless. I guess it can depend on who does it. However it's another step forward, with your recovery. All the best.

    Regards Ray.

  • Maybe a fair amount of granulation? That could potentially make it painful I guess.

    Yes Dani,

In fairness though the nurse did say it was going to hurt.

Just didn't expect that level of pain as I had viewed many videos on YouTube and they didn't flinch!

    Oh well....at least it's out :-)

    Thanks Ray.

  • Sorry to be reading this John as i have mine changed every 4 months and honestly dont feel a thing just a gurgling noise where the air is coming in or out of the hole. Mike could well be right with the over granulation. I did once have a very painful removal of a drain tube from my neck where i cried in pain, the other ones just came out easy. It just goes to show how different we are, good luck with the rest of your recovery, take care.
