My husband had a CT scan a couple of weeks ago after experiencing pain and difficulty opening his mouth - all of this came after a cough and cold
Our GP prescribed antibiotics and the ENT consultant arranged the scan
We've had a call today and my husband can't remember what was said to him but he thinks it's that the scan was unclear and they're arranging an ultrasound appointment
I'd have thought PET scan but he's adamant they didn't say that
Does anyone have experience of an ultrasound following a CT scan please ?
Many thanks,
Hi Twiglet. I had an ultrasound on my neck after an MRI because they found something on my Thyroid cartilage which turned out benign.
I would ring his CNS tomorrow to find out exactly what's happening. Best wishes
Dani
Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
Funnily enough, I did too.
They saw something on the CT or PET scan (can't remember which now after 2 years) and it may have altered the treatment they were planning, so did an ultrasound on my neck. It turned out to be nothing thankfully. I always thought the PET scan would pick up everything and be 100% the best, but by all accounts, all these different scans do different jobs, bit like pieces of a jigsaw I guess.
Hi Piya, thank you so much for your reply, it makes more sense now !
