list of hospital needs
scissors to cut open packets, bottle top opener to open water bottles
extension wire to be able to move about joined like to a feeding tube which are always too short. Also sometimes the socket is very far from the bed from which you cant get out of.
lots of underpants cotton plastic and paper one always spills you or the nurse
my stoma cover and plugs and peg necessaties
my dilators and suppositories and vaseline
Shaving washing needs
pyjama top and scarf can be cold without them
sudoku or puzzle book with lots of cheap pens they always get lost
abc list in big letter like scrabble if I cant talk or write to be able to point out the letters
writing pad and writing book
computer, mouse and extra large good keyboard and not so heavy on bed and charger.
if hospital not wifi connected will also need connection should also contain, simple games like old Ms ones to waste time on, email and cheap text writer like text local. Free ones dont work and much easier for someone who can type than using a phone if your smartphone doesnt connect to a keyboard.
List of email contacts including hospital staff and matron. One should be able to speak to a doctor at any time and not wait till he comes round.
mobile phone and charger and computer charger.
any medicine you may think you need, you cant rely on hospital giving you, like linctus pain killer.
ear plugs good ones, and ear phones. Eye covers
If you are high up a D-tv with a good aerial instead of paying Ten pound a night to watch.

Maybe others have what to add. These seemed to be my needs last week.

It isnt really only for a phone that one needs an extension wire. So just get an extension wire with a four way plug at the end or add one to it to put a normal phone charger in. I  would suggest that all hospital beds which run on electric should have a few sockets to plug chargers in. It cant be difficult to add them on and would  really help the patient.
