I was diagnosed with stage 4 in February last year and after MRI scan luckily it hadn't spread to lymph glands.
My nose collapsed and I had to have surgery which was a partial rhinectomy. My surgery was in June and most of the bone, front and part of one side had to be removed. Unfortunately some of the cancer was left so had another operation in September removing most of the sides. This appears to have removed it all and after the slides were checked given the all clear. Waiting for my final face to face examination and then will have a prosthetic made. Will be monitored for 5 years.
This is a very rare form of skin cancer so not many people have had this operation. I wonder if there is anyone in this group who has had this done.
Hi, ok they have the dentures partly made but I am having trouble at the front where my top lip is fastened down and there not enough room for the ip top look natural it’s getting pulled up in the middle. My face is tight there anyway as I don’t have enough skin to stretch when I sneeze or yawn. I’m not back there till 11th June now.I’m seeing the consultant oncologist on the 11th so I will see what he has to say. How was yours?
Good evening Trish, i had quite a few visits before they got to the "happy with it " stage, I had similar with my bottom lip where it was not free movement so they did a small cut to release it. Good luck with your appointment on the 11th.

Hi been to see consultant today. I wasn’t supposed to go until July time but I wasn’t happy waiting al that time. He says everything is ok in the nose hole department apart front still bleeding I when I clean. He did a bit for me and then plastered the inside with some ointment. He then said he was referring me to the plastic surgeon regarding my top lip and the tight skin on my face. I’m sure he mentioned the magnets too. So the wait begins again for an appointment. But things are on the move.I took my daughter with me today as she always tells it as it is, but she was impressed with his manner and he dictated a referral letter whilst we were there. So fingers crossed it moves quicker than the others appointments during the lockdown. I hope you are all as well as you should be.
Glad things are moving for you. July is a long way off so glad you got appointment to put your mind at rest.
I still get bleeding inside on the left side. Had some antibi cream left from hospital so used that and aloe vera gel. Think it's because the skin is so thin the cleaning is causing cuts. Will bring it up next month at my meeting.
Well things are moving now on the plastic surgery front so hope you don't have to wait too long.
Thank you. The floor of my nose hole won’t heal. It’s a ongoing thing, clean the scabs away usually ends up with some bleeding which dries on the floor of the nose. So the next clean I need to move the dried blood of the floor and then I get some bleeding on the floor. So it’s just a vicious cycle. He has given me some cream so will see what this one does. I have more creams than boots the chemist
Hi Trish
Had my second moulding session for the teeth last Friday and back for a third session this Friday so its moving along I was going to ask about having something done with my lip but I think I'll wait to see how I get on with the teeth first. How do you clean your nose, I wash the inside with warm saline solution which clears it without having to rub it
regards
terry
Hi Terry that’s a good speedy move for the dentures. Mine feel really hard on my gums when I tried them in last time, which must be due to the length of time I have been waiting. My gums have got harder. I can’t wait to see plastics as my top lip keeps going up , I feel like the joker in Batman. I probably look like him too haha. They gave me glue, cleaner and nose when I went co get my nose so I have not tried anything else. The glue takes some getting of your skin though. I’m hopIng I might get the magnets while the plastics are there fingers crossed xxx
