Duraphat, SLS and ulcers.

The main mouthwash i use is sensodyne pronamel, its got 450ppm flouride which seems high so i went for that.

I also (on advice from dental hospital) still use chlorahexadine once a day - alcohol free. I may drop that now though as i dont have any infection risk which was the case at the time.

I also use boots dry mouth expert moisturizing mouthwash when my mouth is dry.

i brush my teeth as soon as I get up up but that’s just me , I also brush then 30 mins after breakfast ,like Dani I brushed during day again 30 mins after meals with ordinary toothpaste sensitive ones and rinse with bioxtra . At bedtime it’s always duraphat Oral care just becomes routine I carry a toothbrush and toothpaste if we got out well in the days we went out  !

I think Chlorhexadine is the basic ingredient of Corsadyl?  I’ve some alcohol free Corsadyl kicking around somewhere so may give a try. 

Hi mark yes its the same stuff as that in corsadyl.

But im not sure if its useful unless you have an infection or are trying to prevent one, at the time i was advised to use it as they were worried about a potential gum infection.

Agree. And it stains your teeth. And it doesn't mix with a toothpaste with SLS in it. 

I really think that once active mucositis has subsided we need to encourage some sort of healthy oral microbiome. I'll tag Hellebore1 She knows all about these things
