Well, I am glad that part is over, I got off pretty lucky for the most part compared to others. I was told it would get worse before it gets better! I now know this to be true, I am in extreme pain when I try to swallow my food so much so it's putting me off eating. As an example today I had 3 eggs scrambled, I ate it but with difficulty, my Lunch 1/2 a banana with ice-cream, and my evening meal will be tomato soup.
I am taking Solpadol for the pain 8 tablets a day, hence the constipation for which I have been given Laxido, Benzydamine mouthwash, Biotene for dry mouth, I will be seeing the consultant on the 18th of February for the results x fingers
Well done for getting through the RT. If you’re still in a lot of pain there are two things you could try; adding ibuprofen in between your paracetamol and codeine or changing to oramorph? There is a product called Oxytecaine which is local anaesthetic with antacid that you can gargle and swallow before eating.
Hope your results in February are good. Are you having a scan first or just a consultant look see?

Well done on completing treatment!
If you are still eating any solids at this stage you are doing amazing, by the end of RT i was on fortisip only and they took ages to get down
Definitely consider oramorph if need be, and with the laxido, id take it every day personally, not just when constipated
Gratz again.

Good evening Viv, good girl in getting through the treatment, you have done well just a shame about the pain but as Dani said maybe better painkillers will help you through this difficult time. All the very best for the 18th , take care ,
