Just a week in for my treatment and sickness is so bad tried various anti sickness drugs just can’t stop wretched.... any advice please...
Hi Lylo, i did not have any sickness when i had my treatment but i believe there are people on here who have suffered hopefully they will be able to help. If you are taking food supplements like Ensure, Fotrisips etc they can cause sickness, but other than that i cannot help. I hope you manage to get something sorted, take care, be safe.

Hi Lylo. I’m so sorry you have this terrible sickness, I had it too and I remember feeling desolate and wretched late at night (and all day). It’s usually down to the anti-sicknessdrugs you have already taken, taking more often doesn’t help. The best thing would be for you to ring the cancer helpline number you should have been given at your treatment hospital. They should be able to advise you. If the sickness continues the best thing is that they admit you and given you anti-sickness meds IV. I was told I should have had this when I was so sick I couldn’t eat for several days after my 1st chemo - but the people on the helpline obviously didn’t know this! You may have to be persistent.
You also need to talk to your Oncologist next week week so that they can review what drugs you are given during your next chemo. I was changed from prednisone steroid to dexamethasone, and it made all the difference - no sickness at all for my second & third chemos.
It’s awful for you at the moment, I’m so sorry, but get onto your team - tonight if necessary, but definitely tomorrow
I could manage a bit of flat Coca Cola and some water, that was all for 4 days. Lost 1/2 stone But I got better, put the weight back on and got on with completing treatment - and here I am 3 years later.
Good luck. your will get through this

Hi lylo
Hilary is spot on. There are various drugs to control nausea and a tailored therapy will go a long way to helping. I didn't have chemotherapy but still suffered nausea from about week three which persisted for about six weeks. I wish I'd known about alternative medication. I was assured It would be fine and all I got was metoclopramide. I have since discovered there are far better drugs so do please talk to your team and be persistant.

Oh well done Lylo. Good to hear the change in meds have helped a little. Always good to speak to your team when you have side effects to treatment as they can often offer some medication to help.
All the best with the rest of your treatment.
