Hi everyone,

Bit of good news today  saw my Macmillan team today and was able to get rid of rig. Still on my Fortis drinks and calogen extra shots but orally now so well pleased, eating more now but still very much trial and error thanks to lack of saliva but all in all happy where I am.

Pet scan in new year after Christmas please god every things clear, I'm hopeful.

Just thought I'd post as I get a pick me up when I read good news from others who have been through treadmill and are slowly  making inroads! Slight smile

  • Big step that Martin, well done! Fingers crossed everything OK on the scan next year, sure it will be.

  • That's great news, I considered it a big step when mine was removed. Good luck with your eating, it is trail and error.

All the very best with your continuing recovery.

    Hello Martin

Sorry to hear you had to go through this but all done now well done so onwards and upwards being positive is key for us all.

I had the same problem end of last year but we are all different with recovery of taste and mucus issues. From my own experience and looking at the stage you are at I would say positively your doing really well and doing the right thing swallowing drinking and eating this is key to the quickest recovery as some people have trouble with this initially. I was pinching my skin on my head to put pain there to allow me to swallow and eat food. .. the mucus saliva takes time but drink loads to help that. I had chemo and radiotherapy in March this year plus a lump removed from my neck. I was told Taste comes back at different speeds for individuals. The quicker you can get back to exercise eating and drinking more the better the outcome from my experience. My taste started coming back after 1 or 2 months but only partially it's now October and taste is pretty good now but sulivor is not 100 percent but is better. I had the all clear in June this year thank God. Be positive fight to swollow food drink and exercise to benefit you that's the way to go. I'm sure all will be good it just takes a bit of time and consistency.  We are both unlucky but very lucky if you know what I mean as this is the most successful time for positive results. Your doing great keep positive and well done ....
