Hi Guys,
week two was awful for me, 5 days in hospital due to severe nausea and vomiting, couldn’t keep anything down at all. Now in week three and today feeling very nauseous again. I did get a PEG fitted in my first week of treatment, but doesn’t help much if you can’t keep anything down. Already lost over half a stone and had to have a second mask made. Still nearly half way now.
Hi Kay
hang on in there. I had a friend who was sick every daybreaks for 6 weeks keep, asking for the antimsickness meds’ as we are all started off in the cheapest ones available then progress on to the more expense s if need be my friend has to pester constantly.

I can only imagine what you are going through my oh finished treatment last Friday and has had terrible sickness and nausea throughout the whole process, he has had 3 hospital admissions just for the nausea and lost nearly 20kg! we have tried 6 different anti sickness meds, cyclizine, domperidone, ondansatron, levozamaprine, levozamaprine via a syringe driver and now on metocloprimide, they have all started off being great drugs but then failed to works after 5-10days perseverance is great but if you feel they are no longer working just take it up with one of the nurses at review, I really hope this settles for you try and keep hydrated with fluid as it is much easier to bring up than just bile alone we wish you well
I’ve had all of those and a couple of others except the levozamaprine. They’ve given me a low dose steroid across this weekend and are reviewing again on Tuesday. I’ve lost 6 kilos so far, only weighed 62 kilos at the start so hopefully won’t loose too much more. I’ve been given loads of supplements as well. Still I’m half way there now, trying so hard to stay positive.
Great stuff that you are half way there, not much longer, fingers crossed for you that those steroids will hopefully help to rebuild you up, keep on trying those supplements have you a peg? If so little and often always helped, it will get better I promise oh started at 74kg and went down as far as 56 back up to 58 now so it definitely helps with the fortisip little and often all the best over the next few weeks
