Hi, 5 months post surgery and having problems after eating. Taken all advice on board around eating and now on Creon as they think I have malabsorbtion due to lack of Pancreatic Enzymes. I have lost well over a stone since Surgery and struggling to put any back on. I was wondering if anyone had the same issues and did they improve with time. Thanks Malcolmx
Hi. I think that many people have experienced non absorption of fats for quite long periods after this surgery. I have read on this site of some that have been on creon or its equivalents such as nutryzim for several months or even years. In my own case I took low doses for about 4 months but I no longer take it as my digestive tract seemed to settle down after that. My diet these days has minimal fat content and I seem to be much better for it. I lost 2 stone post surgery but in my case that was no bad thing and I have maintained that lower stable weight ever since for over 2 years now.. So I think you will find it will improve but everybody ploughs their own furrow through this post op. recovery. Hope things improve for you.
