Hi, how are we all doing this bank holiday weekend???  I've been battling a chest infection for the last 2 weeks. Even with antibiotics it's absolutely floored me. Lack of appetite, fatigue worse than normal. I've been feeling pretty sorry for myself.

I start my 3rd chemo regime this year on Wednesday after the last 2 did absolutely nothing to hold my cancer at bay. I'm now going onto Folfiri and I know very little about it. I do know that ill be coming home with a pump/bottle so it's a long infusion like FLOT.   I've have a phone call ore assessment tomorrow so I find out more then. I had a new hickman line fitted last week so I'm basically all ready to start treatment.

I just wish I could kick this chest infection into touch. I think I'm probably going to need another course of antibiotics.

Anyway thats all I've got to say for now

  • Hi Tony1966

I go for my 2nd Paclitaxel infusion on Thursday. I was fine after the first last week, managed to keep drink down and felt okay. The last couple of days I'm really thirsty but finding it hard to keep anything down. My tumours are in the oesophagus and stomach lining where's yours?

  • My cancer has now spread to the lining of my abdomen and my chest. I've also got a tumour where my stomach was pulled up to join what's left of my oesophagus. I was on Paclitaxel aswell but it didn't work, neither did the Oxaliplatin before that.

  • Thanks Tony, do you have difficulty keeping anything down too?

  • No, I'm pretty much ok on that front. I remember you telling me you have problems keeping food down. I do fet a build up of mucus and flem that blocks my plumbing so I have to go to the toilet to bring that up.
