Hi there,
I'm just looking for some advice really. My dad had the Ivor Lewis operation just over a year ago. Things had pretty much settled down, but in the past 6 weeks he has lost about 7 kg in weight and also stopped sleeping. His energy levels are also very up and down. I've told him to go to his GP, but he is always a bit slow to go... (and I am therefore jumping up and down in the background!). This is alarming to me!
Is everything just through the GP at this stage, in between CT scan checks with the oncology team? Or can he contact them directly?
Many thanks everyone!
Did he have a GI nurse as they would be my first port of call ! Getting a GP appointment could take ages !!
What does GI stand for? Sorry, I’m terrible with acronyms!
Upper gastrointestinal ! I would have thought he would have had one !
