Does anyone else have problems with the Hickman line I have two fitted now both have fell out the first one nearly a week after first session of chemo I got an infection in and when in hospital it fell out
The second one I was on my back to the hospital when the dressing stuck to my shirt and I looked the cuff had been pulled out I by the time I got to the hospital the whole line was out
Just wondered if this happens a lot
Hi Peter99
Sorry for the delay in answering your post, I had hoped that someone who has some experience of this would answer you, so I am going to bump this post up again just in case it has been missed.
I wasn't sure that Hickman lines were still being used, or whether your Hickman line is like a Picc line or a Portacath?
My husband used to have a Picc line which he had to be very careful with, but it never came out more than a couple of millimetres
