Hi
I am 10 years now since starting treatment for OS and cancer free but swallowing becomes increasingly difficult and I choke and vomit 3-4 times a week.
I know a stent is a possibility. Stretching has reached its max so I wonder if anyone can offer any advice as I am now suffering the effects of a very restricted diet.
Is part tube-feeding the only answer?
Hello Harveysmiles
I can't say whether being part tube fed is the way forward or not, but I wonder if you have kept a diary of any kind?
Dal writes every meal in a his diary, and he notes next to it whenever he has a bad reaction, we look over this and try to work out the triggers of what it is that makes certain foods stick, causing him to have to vomit to remove the blockage.
Have you had any recent scans to investigate why you have found it increasingly difficult to swallow? if not maybe you could ask for one to be organised.
Best to speak to a professional regarding your swallowing difficulties anyway, as they wil have more advise on how they can help you.
Good Luck
