Hi everyone. Having finished chemo in December, Oncologist has put me on Herceptin infusions every 3 weeks. My cancer cannot be cured, but can be controlled and doctors very pleased with progress. However, I am feeling more and more tired and often go for a lie down before and after lunch. Am used to being a very active person so am finding this very difficult. Has anyone had similar problems?
Hi Zombie
Welcome to the forum, sorry that this message has been unanswered for so long, but it is great news to hear that the Herceptin is working well for you.
The tiredness is something that most people experience in one way or another, and I think it may be something to tell your oncologist so that you can have your iron levels checked. My husband has Herceptin every two weeks, and has always forced himself to do stuff even at whilst he has the 24 hour bottle on, but this is how he copes and as I say it is different for everyone. This weekend will be his 46 treatment overall, the last 41 on Herceptin and like you he seems to be reacting very well to the treatment.
I think it is worth asking, though I am sure they check your bloods anyway, but there may be something that they can offer to help you feel less tired... and with the Spring coming our way, you may even feel less sleepy.
Good Luck
